No time epitomizes the small thrills in life quite like in the month of July.
Air is warm. Fireflies illuminate dark skies. Children giggle as they draw circles with glowing sparklers. The great American flag waves in the summer breeze, family dogs swim and backyard grills are a’blazin’ with burgers, ribs and beer-can chicken.
It’s the culmination of these small moments that ignite the inner ‘aahhhh’ in us all. This tapestry of moments molds into our own unique nostalgic tradition, shaping us each without even our awareness.
How cool is that?
Lush, green grass. Gardens bursting with produce. Flowers in bloom—and even the calming hum of insects a’buzz in the outdoors. These define summer in July, don’t they?
Focus on these things, even if just for a moment. Inhale. Look, and then really see what surrounds you. Blue sky. Green trees. The scents of summertime.
So, put the phone away, stop stressing over bills, the kids’ futures, the spouse’s mood or the mess in the kitchen sink. Address those later.
For now, just BE.
Be focused. Be thankful. Be joyous on the inside. Be content with right here, right now. Expect goodness—and soon it’ll surround your world.
