Adult Easter Egg Hunts
Easter Egg Hunts. They’re not just for toddlers.
All my kids are grown. Some in college. Some out of college. And I’m happy to say all are ‘adulting’ pretty darn well.
But when Easter bounces into our traditional world?
Move over Humpty. My kids are coming home + it’s the countdown for the Annual Adulting Easter Egg Hunt.
Yep, it’s ‘on’ like Donkey Kong.

It’s competitive. It’s silly. And the adulting-kiddos of mine? They hop, laugh and race with the rambunctiousness of 4-year-olds in bodies with the athleticism + strength of 20-somethings.
Yes, it’s hilarious. For them. And for me + the hubbs to watch.
Want ideas for your adult kids’ Easter Egg hunt? Give our tradition a try.
- Hop-Stretch. All adulting-kids line-up at the starting line. Each adulting-kid holds his/her egg bag and must hop like a bunny to the finish line. No running, walking, or skipping allowed (if so, they return to the starting line). Mama wants to see bunny hops. And yes, they all must wear bunny ears. (Note: If you, too, have survived children’s teenage years, you, deserve this visual reward as much as I do. Plus, the hopping starts the hunt with laughs all-around.)
- Egg Blast. When each adulting-kid bounces beyond the finish line, they may blast off to find plastic eggs. To see grown men and women scampering about, excited, giggling, competitive and teasing one another just warms an Easter mama’s heart.
- Egg Count. Once all eggs are found (the hubbs + I hide about 100 of them… well, he hides ‘em; I place eggs in obvious places to watch for competitive dives), we scamper inside for coffee and/or mimosas + to see who found the most eggs.
- Egg-citing Vouchers. What’s inside the eggs? Some have candy, some coins, some hold paper money and others have vouchers. What are vouchers for? The handmade vouchers may be redeemed for craft beers, energy drinks, flavored waters, mini-wines, favorite snacks and more. My adulting-kids LOVE the process to redeem for gifts.
Enjoy watching your adulting-kids embrace their inner child. You might be surprised at the ensuing laughter and joy you facilitate for the whole family. And then? It’ll become your annual tradition too.
Give it a try…. And Happy Easter to all from InSuesShoes.com!
